DO YOU HAVE PRAYER NEEDS?

God loves us and cares about us more than we can know.  He wants us to love him in return and talk to him about the things of concern to us.  Look at these verses from God's word with regard to our prayers to Him:  "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."  2 Chronicles 7:14
"He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea."  Psalms 102:17
"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."  Matthew 21:22
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."  Phillipians 4:6
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."  James 5:16

Jesus, speaking to his disciples about prayer said in Matthew 6:
verse 6 "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 "This, then, is how you should pray: "`Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. '
14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."

and in Luke 11:1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."
2 He said to them, "When you pray, say: "`Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
3 Give us each day our daily bread.
4 Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation." 5 Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, `Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6 because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.'
7 "Then the one inside answers, `Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.'
8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
9 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 11 "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

If you have a special prayer need, we want you to know that we care about you and your needs.  We will lift your need in prayer if you wish to share it with us.  Feel free to use the email link/website comment form to share your needs for special prayer, or if you have other needs.  If you feel more comfortable sharing face to face or on the telephone with someone you know who attends this Church, please feel free to do so.  The Church maintains a Prayer Chain for the purpose of taking special needs to God in prayer.  To begin a prayer chain request please call (606) 663-9980.  We love and care about YOU!
