Notes From Pastor Anthony’s Desk; July 9, 2006

I received this e-mail this past week and thought that it was worthy to pass on to you in Pastor’s Notes and hope that it is a little food for thought.

“I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones.

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it as we traveled?

What if we used it in case of an emergency?

Something to make you say hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, and where is my Bible?

D.O. Teasley wrote a great song that we very rarely sing anymore but it is worth quoting here today. “Back to the blessed old Bible, Back to the light of its word; be on our banners forever Holiness unto the Lord”.

I believe that a great deal of the stuff that we huff and puff about being wrong with the world that we live in could be taken care of if we would heed the message in this great song of the Reformation.

By the way, you can find this song on page 354 - give it a read sometime.

In my prayers,  Pastor Anthony
