Notes From Pastor Anthony’s Desk; June 4, 2006

Wow time is sure flying by this year. It seemed like only yesterday I was inviting people to our New Year's Eve Watch Night Service and here it is the 1st Sunday in June. That’s right summer is here, vacations are on the horizon and it is very important that we make sure we leave time for God and His house of worship.

No one knows like I do how busy that we can become, especially this time of year but we need not forget that we still have duties to God. For the past few weeks I have noticed a decline in our Sunday evening and Wednesday evening attendance. As I think about what may be the problem the 1st question that pops into my head is found in Gal 5:7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? NIV

This is a question that we need to ask ourselves, what has caused us to ease up in our service? Is it the Pastor? Come and let us have a talk. Is it your job? Be careful not to sell your soul to the company. There is a difference in being a dedicated worker and a workaholic. Some use the excuse of being with family, what better place to spend quality time than in God's house. Is it a hobby, then what is most important in your life, is the question that needs to be asked.

Many may ask what does it matter to me if you come to worship or not. And I simply reply, because I care about you and I want you to achieve at the highest level with God.

Not only is it important that we worship regularly but also that we fellowship regularly. We need one another, we need you here and you need us to be here for you. Remember where the devil talked Eve into disobeying God, while she was alone in the garden. See ya tonight.
