Notes From Pastor Anthony’s Desk; January 15, 2006

This past Wednesday I was given the opportunity along with several other ministers to go and visit the Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky. The whole concept of this museum is to refute Darwinism or the theory of Evolution and support the fact of 6-day creationism. It gives biblical and scientific fact that the earth is just thousands of years old and not millions. But the reason that I am telling you this is because of some of the things that I began to think about because of my experience.

God made the world in six days. Jesus was born to a little virgin teenager. His death on the cross somehow pays the penalty for all your sins if you merely confess your need for it and believe that He's God's Son. The Bible is His Word of truth, even though others claim they have another God and another book and another way to get close to Him.

As I reflected on all these truths of God’s word I began to wonder a little bit about those that are not as privileged as I to have these divine truths embedded into my spirit. What about good people who die but who didn't go to church much? What about the thirty-five-year-old mother of three who's dying of cancer and trying to prepare her family to live without her? What is going to happen to the person that denies the very fact that there is a God? What can we do to help that person to know God? How can we help that mother to not only prepare her children but also prepare herself for her eternal fate?

I believe the reason that God worked my mind overtime with these types of thoughts was to show me how blessed that I was to be in the truth of God. But I also recognized even more the responsibility I had to the people around me to share with them these same truths.

As blessed as I am to have the truth in my possession, I am even more blessed with each and every opportunity I have to share those truths with ones that may be searching.
