Notes From Pastor Anthony’s Desk;
First of all I want to extend a very hardy “Thank
You” to Bro. And Sis. Baker for
their very kind Christian hospitality last week at “Kite Day”. It was my 1st experience of
“Kite Day” and it will be one that I will never forget. If you
missed out on it you really missed out on something
special.
As we were all watching the kites fly last week, and
there were some high flyers, I began to notice that some of the kites were
limited on how high that they could fly because of the length of their line. As
they seemingly wanted to soar higher and higher they continually were held down
because of lack of rope. It didn’t matter what the captain of the kite did, it
could not go any higher unless more line was added.
Of course this opened the door for the Lord to unwrap
some spiritual truth to my heart. He began to teach me that we are much like
those kites. The kites were nothing until the ones that were doing the flying
put them together. They also were the cause of their own limitation, their lack
of string.
Until you asked Jesus into your heart as your personal
Savior you were nothing. But when Jesus saved you; you became a child of the
King. But you know that there are many children of the King that have never
reached their Godly potential because they limit themselves. We limit ourselves
in many different ways, lack of faith, through disobedience, lack of prayer and
Bible study, neglecting church services and the list could go on and on.
But I believe that if we were to put our total faith in
God and allow Him to lead and guide us in the path that He has charted for us,
we would be able to soar with the eagles.
Remember,
“We can do all things through Christ that strengthens
us.”
