Notes From Pastor Anthony’s Desk; March 6 |

I hope that this note finds all of you rejoicing over the
great week God has given you and looking forward to the one that is coming
up. I have realized that sometimes when
I am the most discontent with my life or with the things that are happening in
it, it’s because I am not allowing God to have His entire way with my life. As
I have been praying and searching the face of God in the last little bit over
His will for my life and the life of our Church I have been reminded over and
over again that if the “Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want”. This verse of
scripture helps me to stay focused on just letting the Lord move in His own
time and in His own way and for me not to get in a big hurry. But it seems as
if I still find many Christians that are in some kind of want or desire that
keeps them from being content with their life. As I pondered on what could be
the problem I came across this little story that really shed light on the whole
issue for me. A Sunday school teacher asked
her group of children if anyone could quote the entire 23rd Psalm. A
golden-haired, four-and-a-half-year-old girl was among those who raised their
hands. A bit skeptical, the teacher asked if she could really quote the entire Psalm.
The little girl came to the front of the room, faced the class, made a perky
little bow, and said, "The Lord is my Shepherd, that's all I want."
She bowed again and went and sat down. If we all could ever get to the
place in our lives that the will of God was all that we wanted and His desires
for our lives was all that mattered to us, we could be a more blessed and
content people. What is it that you want for your life? Can you truly recite
the words of this little child? Remember that Christ said, “Whosoever shall
not receive the Luke 18:17 It may be high time some of us
become a little more childish, if you know what I mean. Pastor Anthony
